Semarang, December 19, 2024, SUH – Mohamad Iqbal Firmansyah, a student of the Mechanical Design Engineering Study Program at Vocational School of Diponegoro University (Undip), has brought immense pride and a sense of accomplishment to our campus by winning first place in the CAE Design Competition (CDC) 2024. The competition, organised by PT Tensor Sinergi Indonesia, challenged participants to design and analyse electric car components using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, with a focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). With his team, Enjoyneering, Iqbal outperformed other participants with CFD simulations on the electric car battery cooling system and FEA on the chassis structure of a four-wheeled vehicle.
The grand final, which was broadcast live on December 8, 2024, via the PT Tensor Sinergi Indonesia YouTube channel, was the culmination of a highly competitive and prestigious competition. The event, which began with registration on September 8, continued with online case studies until October 31, and the announcement of 5 finalists on November 9, was a platform for showcasing the best in engineering innovation. This competition assessed design innovation, simulation accuracy, material efficiency, and presentation. In this competition, the Enjoyneering team conducted simulations to optimise the performance and durability of electric car components, with a focus on efficient battery temperature control and sturdy chassis structure strength.
“We are grateful for this achievement,” said Iqbal. “This victory is the result of the team’s hard work and guidance from lecturers. Thank you to our fellow students from the 2021 RPM batch, the Undip Mechanical Design Engineering Study Program, and our parents who always support and encourage us. Hopefully, this research can contribute to the development of electric vehicle technology in Indonesia.”
